Double-humped camels, Mongolia

I thought I’d lost these photos- I know I snapped some photos of camels but somehow couldn’t find them on my netbook.

Then I went through the images on my SDHC card and found them.

And so here they are. Bactrian, or double-humped wild camels from Mongolia, unique to Northern Asia, unlike the single-humped camels in the Middle East.

I was lucky to see this guy up close in Gorkhi-Terelj:

    Hi Anis,
Glad to know that you are doing well on your travelling so far. When I heard you were going on the Trans-Siberian train, I was so envious of you. It was my dream to do so. My health condition now however doesn’t permit me to have such dream anymore. So I just tumpang you on your journey by putting your blog on my blog roll. I hope you don’t mind so much, because mine is a sopo. Anyway, I think the double humped unta were cute, unlike the grumpy one humped type 🙂 Well, till next time, take care and all the best girl.

Hi BigCat, of course I don’t mind you putting this old blog on your blogroll, thanks so much. Yes, the double-humped ones are kind of cute! Do look after your health, there might be other trips which you can do instead.
